Empathy is the ability to understand and share the feelings of others. It is a fundamental aspect of effective communication and plays a crucial role in building strong relationships, both personal and professional. In this short how-to video, built for mechanics, we will explore the concept of empathy, its importance, and how it can be developed.
Based on feedback from the Wrench Turners Wellness Survey, service-drive communication to technicians was consistently the top or top 3 priority to repair in shops. As such, I've created a very short "first steps" how-to video to help technicians do their part in improving the communication they deliver to the service drive, their baymates, and leadership.
When you see the effects of your team implementing the steps from this video (or yourself) but would like to introduce more steps, please reach out to me for 1:1 coaching or virtual/live coaching sessions: firstname.lastname@example.org
PS, if your shop is struggling, and you are overwhelmed with the prospect of fixing everything, the Wrench Turners Wellness Survey can help determine which areas you should prioritize for maximum benefit to the shop, and to the business.
